Europe Trip 2008

Leaving Switzerland

Hi all, finally got to a computer to add a little to the blog.

Left Switzerland and made our way to a small town in the Italian Northern lakes called Arona.  Had planned a lake cruise to see some of the Islands on the lake however the weather turned nasty and we were held hostage in the town eating pastries & gelatii!..Damn the rain!.

Arona

After 2 nights we left for the small village of Monteresso on the Medireanian coast. Spectacular!..5 villages all within a stones throw of each other built into the cliff face..Got some great pics to show you all when we return..More Gelati & pasteries…..

Monterosso

Monterosso

Left for Rome yesterday via Pisa. Had a couple of hours looking around, under,up & over the tower…was unsure if I would be impressed but was. Is a corny tourist trap but cant take away the presence of the tower itself & surrounding buildings..

Pisa

Left Pisa at 3.00pm for a 3 hour train ride to Rome, got into Rome at about 7.30pm..A train ride from hell but thats another story.

Hope it wont be as long until the next update!..cheers until then.

Am also having trouble adding pics here..will try again tomorrow

  2. Hi Deb and Mike, great pics, thats a damn shame being held hostage eating the pastries and gelati. I looked after the kids the other night while Mand and Steve went to footie. We had a nice night, just watched dvd’s but it kept the kids entertained. Back to work tomorrow after a long weekend, always a drag. Really enjoying reading about your travels, can’t wait to see the pics. Take care, Shan XO

  3. Hi Deb and Micheal

Wow what beautiful places you have visited can’t wait to see the photo’s. The photo’s you have sent look beautiful and clear. It is hard to believe you have been away for nearly 3 weeks!!
Not much news over here. The kids, Jack, Aunty A & myself went to the Anzac Day march at Redcliffe, it was nice and the kids enjoyed it (seemed to be smaller than last year). The weather here has been beautiful – lovely picnic weather. Thats about all the news. Oh, Georgia and Josh want to tell Deb that Doc. Martin is getting MARRIED next week!! Got to keep you up dated with TV news especially Dr. Martin!!!!

Anyway, keep having fun and takes lots of pictures.
    Love Mandy and crew xxx
